Drug Groups
Drug Groups are used by the rules that trigger alerts on patients' medication events. They can also be used for reporting. The same drug can be included in any number of groups.

Create a drug group
- From the Drugs menu, select Drug Groups.
The list of existing drug groups is displayed. Check to ensure the group you plan to create does not already exist.
- Select Create Group.

Enter a Group Name and an optional Description.
- Select the drugs you want to include in the group.
- Select Save.
The new group is added to the list. Your username and the Created Date are recorded against the new group.
Edit a drug group
- From the Drugs menu, select Drug Groups.
The list of existing drug groups is displayed.
If a drug group is associated with one or more rules, you will see Yes in its Rule Associated column. Before you edit these drug groups, make sure you understand which rules are associated, and how they will be affected.
- To find the drug group you want to edit, either start typing its name in the Search Groups box, or use the column headings to sort and filter the list.
- Click the Edit icon next to the drug group you want to edit.
The Group Details screen is displayed in edit mode.
Here, you can:
- Update the Group Name and Description, if required
- Add or remove drugs from the group. To do this, first find the drugs you want to add or remove, using the Search Drug List box or the column header filters; then:
- To add a drug to the group, tick the checkbox in the left-hand column.
- To remove a drug from the group, remove the tick from its checkbox.
- To save your changes, select Save. To discard your changes, navigate away from the page.
Delete a drug group
- From the Drugs menu, select Drug Groups.
The list of existing drug groups is displayed.
If a drug group is associated with one or more rules, you will see Yes in its Rule Associated column. Before you delete any of these drug groups, make sure you understand which rules are associated, and how they will be affected.
- Select the Delete icon next to the drug group you want to delete.
You are prompted to confirm the deletion.
- To delete the drug group, select OK. To cancel the deletion, select Cancel.
